If you are a skilled visa applicant and are awaiting an invitation from a State/Territory or Department, you have to keep your English test and skills assessment certificates up to date.
Please double-check the validity of your certificates. If they are close to expiring should consider applying for a renewal of their assessment at the same time as they apply for a state or territory migration program – or earlier. Each state and territory have its own criteria for applications and sometimes the timeframes are short.
Everything used to be clear with the English test, but the renewal of the skills assessment always brings candidates to a silent question. Therefore, today I will tell you about skills assessment renewal using the example of the most popular assessing organization VETASSESS.
By the way, your renewal can include adding newly acquired qualifications and/or employment positions that were not previously assessed.
If you have received a successful skills assessment and would like to be reassessed, you may be eligible to apply for a renewal application.

To satisfy the requirements when applying for a renewal, you must demonstrate that your skills meet the current criteria for your nominated occupation.
It is important to check the current criteria because they may have changed. Vetassess will check your qualifications against the criteria, as well as whether you have recently worked in your occupation.
Please note that VETASSESS cannot guarantee a successful outcome as part of the renewal application process.
A positive full skills assessment outcome is usually valid for three years from its issue date.
If you need a renewal of your skills assessment, contact us before your skills assessment is expired.
Once your skills assessment outcome letter has expired, it cannot be renewed. You will need to submit a new skills assessment application and pay the full fee.

Both options – renewal or full skills assessment – are valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
