TOEFL test is back for all Australian migration purposes

Starting from 5 May, 2024, TOEFL iBT test results will be accepted for applying for Australian visas and migration purposes!

However, there are a couple of exceptions to note:

  1. If you took the TOEFL iBT test between July 26th, 2023 and May 4th, 2024, unfortunately, those results won’t be accepted. However, tests obtained before 26 July, 2023, remain valid for two years (where is applicable).
  2. Online TOEFL iBT tests won’t be accepted. All candidates must take the test at a secure testing center.

On official website of TOEFL test you can find the exact location of testing centers and check the available exam dates to ensure convenient conditions for yourself. Remember to select the TOEFL iBT® exam. Here’s the link.

Feeling overwhelmed after all changes?

No worries, my friends. there is a clear overview of other exams accepted by the department:

  • Following many reviews, the easiest one is: Pearson Test of English (PTE).
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS), which gives you two possibilities depending on your migration purpose. The IELTS Academic – if you wish to study at university or college. If you are considering skilled stream, unless specifically required for skills assessment, you can choose the IELTS General.
  • Cambridge English (CAE) (also known as C1 Advanced).
  • And a test developed for health professionals: Occupational English Test (OET).
