Amazing news for students and graduates
Attention, guys! VERY important information for former, current and future students!
1 Temporary Graduate SC 485 visa holders, who were unable to enter Australia due to international border restrictions imposed due to COVID-19, will be able to reapply for a new visa of the same category. This rule applies to current and former 485 visa holders if the visa expired on February 1, 2020 or later.
Let me remind you that in normal circumstances, applicants are limited to just one subclass 485 visa in a lifetime and the further path to permanent residence is open to them through a skilled migration stream.
More than 30,000 international graduates whose visas have expired will be able to apply for new visas from July 1, 2022.
2 The stay period on the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa for Masters by Coursework graduates, will increase permanently from two to three years, to match the stay period for Masters by Research graduates.
3 The stay period on the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa Graduate Work stream, will increase from 18 to 24 months. These changes are in effect since December 1, 2021.
4 The requirements for applying for a graduate visa will be simplified by removing the requirement for graduates to nominate an occupation from the skills occupation list. This change will expand opportunities for Vocational Education and Training (VET) graduates. This change will be implemented July 1, 2022.
