7 common mistakes of Australian partners

Hello to all those in love with Australia! This post is for those of you who are planning to meet an Aussies or are already dating with them and thinking about applying for a prospective marriage or partner visa.

Here are 7 mistakes you should AVOID if you want to get your Australian visa and residency quickly and with no hassle or stress.

DON’T delete your messages or keep your relationship hidden. Your photos and messages are the best evidence of your genuine relationship in the early stages.

DON’T show your full independency. Sharing a household is key: joint bank accounts, lease agreements, shared bills, and daily routine together. Please pay attention, spending $10 from a common bank account once a week won’t convince the officer.

DON’T dissolve in your partner. Migration process is tough and even strong relationships can struggle. Learn English, find a job, make friends, and integrate into the community.

DON’T just rely on a marriage or child’s birth certificate when applying for a visa. The department wants to see that you’re in a long-term genuine relationship and plan to stay together.

DON’T guess when choosing a visa. There are specific requirements you need to follow. Picking the wrong visa subclass can lead to a refusal and a loss of about 9,000 AUD.

DON’T hide or lie about your current and past relationships. Don’t add extra years to your relationship or hide previous sponsorships. The officer will find out, this will lead to refusal, loss of the fee, and a ban on future visa applications.

DON’T choose an unemployed partner who relies on social benefits, has a long police record, or is under various service controls. True love or not, such cases take longer and require extra work from your side.
