WA migration 2021

Western Australia will open the opportunity to apply for state sponsored nomination for General stream (SC 190 and 491) and the Graduate program soon in January 2021.

ATTENTION! criteria have been revised in line with State health and economic recovery priorities:

  • In order for candidates to be invited and nominated, candidates must currently reside in Australia
  • A minimum score of 65, however invitations to apply for state nominations will be sent to those with the highest EOI score if they meet the state requirement
  • If an invitation is issued, the applicant has 28 days in which to lodge an application for State nomination
  • Receiving an invitation does not guarantee nomination from the state
  • Applicants eligible for s48 bar (with cancelled, bridging, or refusal visas, or visa is unlawful) cannot be nominated by the state
  • You can apply for the Graduate program if due to COVID-19 you have completed your education in Western Australia online (onshore or overseas)
  • You can find the current list of occuations for the main stream of migration and graduates on the WA website or HERE
  • English scores of at least 7777 IELTS for occupational groups 1 (managers) and 2 (professionals) by ANZSCO. For all other specialties – at least 6666 IELTS
  • To be nominated for a “regional only” profession, you must submit a job offer / employment contract for an area with postal codes: 6041 to 6044, 6084, 6207, 6213, 6215 to 6537, 6560 to 6770.

For the Main Stream, the requirements apply

  1. At least 1 year of work experience in Australia and at least 3 years overseas from the last 10 years, in a nominated or related profession
  2. A full time employment contract in WA for a period of at least 12 months in a nominated or closely related profession
  3. Provide evidence showing sufficient funds to cover settlement costs and living costs for at least three months.

For the Alumni stream, the requirements apply:

  1. Completed full-time education of at least 2 years of Certificate level III and above in selected educational institutions in Western Australia
  2. At least 6 months of Australian work experience in a nominated or related occupation in the last 5 years
    OR
  3. A full time employment contract in WA for a period of at least 6 months in a nominated or related profession
