We always talk about how incredible Australia is – sunny, vibrant, full of opportunities, and an amazing place to call home. But, like every story, this one has a flip side…
Just a few people hear about the disappointments that can come with moving to Australia. But these stories are real – I’ve seen countless visa and migration cases pass through my hands, mind, and heart. Over the past couple of years, at least three successful visa cases turned into shattered dreams for my clients.
Imagine spending months on paperwork, struggling and waiting for visa outcome, and investing thousands of dollars in exams, fees, and education. Then, with the visa finally on hand, there’s the thrill of a new life, a fresh start. But after moving, once the first six months of excitement fades, something changes.
Many of those who leave Australia “early” had already been here as tourists. They absolutely loved it and decided to move here forever. So, what went wrong?
They said, Australia became foreign, “not like home”. Each person had their own reasons, of course, but not everyone was transparent with me. The feeling that “this is not working” was stronger than the logic and opportunity of living in one of the best countries in the world. For them, Australia is not to the top of world-wide rating any more, for sure.
When my clients made the decision to leave, I supported them. After all, what’s more important than the sense of comfort and belonging? They sold everything they had and left the country that was supposed to become their new home.
