Queensland. Skilled migration program 2022-2023

From August 16, the migration program to the state of Queensland is open for offshore and onshore applicants for skilled sponsored visas, for Graduates of a Queensland University and Small Business Owners (SC491 SBO).

Please be aware QLD considers only new EOIs submitted to Skillselect from August 16th. Before submitting an EOI, please read the updated criteria carefully and make sure you meet them.

QLD migration program 2022-2023

Permanent visa 190

Onshore

  • 80 points and more
  • IELTS 7777 minimum (IELTS 6666 is acceptable for trades occupation)
  • Occupation from eligible SOL
  • Live and full-time work in the QLD for 6 months in the nominated profession
  • Contract for the next 12 months of full-time employment with a Queensland employer


Offshore

  • 80 points and more
  • Minimum 7777 IELTS except where otherwise specified)
  • Occupation on the Queensland Skilled Occupations List QSOL
  • At least 3 years of work experience after training except where otherwise specified)

Temporary visa 491

Onshore

  • 65 points and more
  • IELTS 7777 minimum (IELTS 6666 is acceptable for trades occupation)
  • Occupation from eligible SOL
  • Live and full-time work in a regional QLD for 3 months in the nominated occupation
  • Contract for the next 12 months of full-time employment with a Queensland employer


Offshore

  • 65 points and more
  • Minimum 7777 IELTS (except where otherwise specified)
  • Occupation on the Queensland Skilled Occupations List QSOL
  • At least 3 years of work experience after training (except where otherwise specified)

Graduates of a Queensland university

The stream is intended for successful PhD, Doctorate, Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree graduates from Queensland universities and are currently onshore in Queensland.

General requirements for candidates:

  • From 80 points for visa 190 or from 65 points for visa 491
  • Minimum 7777 IELTS
  • Fully completed education in Queensland no later than 2 years ago
  • Full-time employment with a Queensland employer (except PhDs and Doctorate)


PhD and doctorate graduates – visa 190 & 491


Masters degree graduates – visas 190 & 491

  • For 190 – Master Degree in a STEM field
  • For 491 – Master Graduates have an occupation on the relevant list
  • Employed full-time in Queensland (or regional Queensland for 491) in the nominated or closely related occupation


Bachelor degree graduates – visa 491 only

  • Minimum Grade Point Average 5.5
  • Have an occupation on the relevant list
  • Employed full-time in regional Queensland in the nominated or closely related occupation.

Small Business Owners Steam

This path is intended for migrants who currently live and run small businesses in the region.

Candidate requirements:

  • Occupation from the main SOL list
  • Full time working rights
  • Not currently studying
  • Live, work, run business in regional Queensland
  • From 65 points
  • Minimum 6666 IELTS
  • Have purchased existing business in regional Queensland for a minimum AUD 100,000
