NSW Migration Updates 2024-2025

New South Wales requirements updates are coming soon and the migration office will be open for applications in October. Official sources are delivering that invitation rounds will be conducted every 2-3 weeks until the nomination allocations will be exhausted: 3,000 nominations for the permanent visa 190 and 2,000 nominations for the temporary visa 491.

Before all these updates are officially published on the website, here’s a summary of the changes for current program year:

  • The TSMIT (Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold) will be applied at time of application, TSMIT will be reduced for some occupations (Visa 491, Pathway 1).
  • You must work in regional NSW – the requirement to live in the region will be removed for Visa 491, Pathway 1.
  • A special pathway (Visa 491, Pathway 3) has been established for recent graduates from regional NSW educational institutions.
  • NSW occupation lists will be published as the Unit Group.
  • All occupations within the Unit Group will be a priority skill and will be ranked within the unit group.
  • Dedicated NSW skilled lists will be published for Visa 190 and Visa 491.
  • NSW will adopt and apply skilled employment definitions as per migration legislation
  • All valid EOI’s for NSW will be considered
