There are many changes in the state migration program for the new financial year, including changes in priority application categories, new occupations in the list, updates to minimum income requirements, an updated list of critical occupations, and an increased state nomination fee.
In total, the state offers 10 pathways for potential skilled candidates: 4 pathways for the 190 visa and 6 pathways for the 491 visa. In addition to the basic requirements of the department (age, English language provision, points), candidates should consider the specific requirements of each Tasmanian migration pathway.
The candidate selection system in Tasmania is not simple and has multi-levels: each pathway has designated candidate selection priorities – Gold, Green, Orange plus, and Orange. The characteristics of these priorities are defined individually for each pathway.
Candidates cannot apply for nomination until they are invited by the gateway or the gateway gives a Gold Pass. Registrations are valid for 6 months and only the most competitive applicants will be invited to lodge an application for nomination. There is no fee to register your interest. State sponsorship application fee is 360AUD.
✪ Gold Pass ✪ Candidates can lodge an application for nomination immediately
✪ Green Pass ✪ Candidates will not be able to lodge an application straight away, but may be invited to apply for nomination in the next 6-8 weeks, depending upon the number of nomination places remaining for the program year.
✪ Orange Pass ✪ Orange Pass you may be invited to apply for nomination within the next 6 months, depending upon the volume of interest we have received and how many of the priority attributes you have. Candidates who have at least one of the Orange-Plus priority attributes are a high priority for nomination and will be the first candidates with an Orange Pass to be invited to apply for nomination.
✪ Red Pass ✪ Candidates do not meet our minimum nomination requirements and will not be able to apply for nomination.
