For residents of Tasmania employed in a company with a continuous demand for their occupation. The employer must have been in business for at least 12 months, and the employment contract must be for 12 months with at least 3 months remaining at the time of application. 

1. TOSOL List: The candidate must have been employed for at least 20 hours a week, continuously for at least 6 months prior to applying, and the employment must be related to a profession listed in the Tasmanian Skilled Occupation List (TOSOL) and meet all specified requirements. For subcontractors – at least 12 months of continuous activity.
2. Long-term Employment: The candidate should have worked in a occupation from the relevant SOL list or a related occupation continuously for at least 15 months before applying. For subcontractors – at least 15 months of continuous activity.

Priority criteria for Tasmanian Skilled Employment Pathway, visa 190

For your application to be considered under this pathway, you must meet all minimum criteria and also satisfy one of the candidate level of priorities. 

• Successfully completed an AQF Level 5 or higher course of study in Tasmania or at least a Certificate 3 in ANZSCO Group Level 3-4. 
• Resided in Tasmania for no less than 2 years during study and at the application moment.

This pathway is for overseas professionals from the health sector. To apply for this visa pathway, the candidate must meet all criteria. 

• The candidate or dependent applicants must not have resided in another Australian state for the past 12 months. 
• Skills assessment for the occupation from designated ANZSCO groups. 
• An official job offer in Tasmania for a profession closely related to the nominated position from a company actively conducting business in Tasmania for the last 12 months – guarantees Gold priority for this pathway. 
• The offered salary must be at market level.
• The need for the position must be ongoing.

To qualify for this pathway, applicants must meet all criteria and one or more candidate levels of priorities. All occupations are eligible for this pathway. 

Requirements for ANZSCO Levels 1-3: 

• Must work in Tasmania for at least 6 months before applying, for at least 20 hours a week or if there is a skills assessment from a occupation listed in the Tasmanian Skilled Occupation List (TOSOL), then the work requirement is reduced to 3 months. Employment does not need to be related to skills assessment.
• The applicant and all dependent applicants must reside in Tasmania. 
• The need for the candidate’s position must be ongoing, and the contract must be for at least 12 months with at least 3 months remaining at the time of application to the state. 
• Subcontractors must have at least 12 months of business activity. 

Requirements for ANZSCO Levels 4-5: 

• Must work in Tasmania for at least 12 months before applying, for at least 20 hours a week. 
• The applicant and all dependent applicants must reside in Tasmania. 
• Employment must be ongoing for at least 6 months after the application date. 
• There must be genuine and demonstrated severe labour recruitment difficulty for the role, verified by the employer. 
• There must be opportunities for career advancement, confirmed in writing by the employer. 

Priority criteria for the Tasmanian Skilled Employment Pathway, Visa 491  

To qualify for this pathway, applicants must meet all criteria and possess one or more candidate level of priorities. All occupations are eligible for this pathway. 

• The candidate must have successfully completed an AQF Level 5 or higher course of study in Tasmania or at least a Certificate 3 in ANZSCO Group Level 3-4, with a duration of at least 40 weeks. 
• Reside in the state for a minimum of one year during the entire study period and at the time of application. 

Priority criteria for the Tasmanian Skilled Graduate Pathway, Visa 491  

To qualify for this pathway, applicants must meet all criteria and possess one or more candidate level of priorities. All occupations are eligible for this pathway. 

• The candidate must confirm the establishment and operation of a business (individually or with a spouse) in Tasmania for at least 12 months. 
• The business must generate an income of at least 85% of TSMIT. 
• The business must compete online course of the Fair Work Ombudsman about treating employees. 
• Business owners related to massage therapy must have a related skills assessment and a verifiable health fund provider number.
• Subcontractors are not eligible for consideration under this pathway. 

Priority criteria for the Tasmanian Business Operator Pathway, Visa 491

This pathway is for overseas professionals. To be eligible, the candidate must meet all criteria and the Gold priority requirement. All occupations are eligible for this pathway. 

• The candidate or dependent applicants must not have lived in another Australian state in the last 12 months. 
• An official job offer in Tasmania for a role closely related to the nominated occupation from a company that has been actively running business in Tasmania for the last 12 months guarantees Gold priority for this pathway. 
• The salary in the offer must be at market level. 
• The need for the position must be ongoing. 
• Massage therapist positions must be located in a hospital, aged or disability care setting or an allied healthcare setting such as a physiotherapy clinic.

This pathway is for permanent residents of Tasmania. To qualify, applicants must fulfill all minimum candidate requirements and meet one of the candidate level of priorities. All occupation are eligible for this pathway. 

The candidate must reside in Tasmania for at least 2 years, which should be at least half of the all time spent in Australia and: 

• Currently work in Tasmania for at least 6 months out of the last 12 for a minimum of 20 hours a week in a role equivalent to ANZSCO Level 1-3, or 
• Currently work in Tasmania for at least 12 months out of the last 18 for a minimum of 20 hours a week in a role equivalent to ANZSCO Level 4-5.
