This program year, the state will invite 3,000 people to apply for subclass 190 permanent visas and an additional 800 people for provisional visas 491 with state nomination.
Traditionally, the state has announced its own Skilled Occupation List, which includes 464 occupations for applicants from Australia and 427 occupations for overseas candidates.

South Australia is accepting applications from applicants through 4 streams and will conduct selection rounds throughout the year. The rounds for overseas applicants will be conducted at the end of each month starting from September. Candidates must meet the basic Department requirements as well as the conditions of the eligible stream. You can find further details below.
For candidates currently living in SA and working on a temporary visa in a nominated occupation for at least 12 months, with full-time employment (at least 30 hours per week). Candidates can be holders of temporary visas, graduates, self-employed applicants, and subcontractors. Graduates need to confirm skilled work experience post-course completion.
Designed for graduates who have completed 75% of their course in SA and have lived in SA for at least 1 year. The length of the completed course must be at least 46 weeks, in an occupation from the state’s list for graduates. Candidates must live and work in the state for at least 6 months at the time of application and have worked full-time (30 hours or more) in the nominated occupation for 6 months. Graduates also need to confirm skilled work experience post-course completion.
This stream is for skilled candidates living and working in remote regions of South Australia for at least 9 months. The candidate must be working in an occupation related to the nominated occupation from the eligible occupation list on a full-time basis (30 hours per week). Candidates can be holders of temporary visas, graduates, self-employed applicants, and subcontractors. Graduates also need to confirm skilled work experience post-course completion.

This stream is for skilled migrants currently living overseas. For most occupations, applicants must have at least 3 years of qualified work experience in their nominated or related occupation within the last 5 years to receive an invitation to apply for nomination in SA. Candidates will be assessed on their level of English proficiency, skilled work experience, and EOI points.
For occupations in the construction trades (listed below), applicants must have at least 1 year of skilled employment in their nominated or related occupation within the last 3 years. For such occupations, work experience will be the most valuable, followed by English proficiency and EOI points.

You can register your interest for the state nomination completely free of charge; however, after receiving an invitation, you will be required to submit documents to the state and pay a government fee of 370 AUD for your application.
