2-year visa 408 for Graduates

Again, extremely important information for Graduates!

If you are a Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa holder in Australia, you may apply for and be granted a Pandemic event visa with a 2-year period of stay, instead of Graduate visa extension, if:

  • your Graduate visa expires before 1 July 2023
  • you are not eligible to apply for a Graduate visa extension on 1 July 2023
  • you currently have an unfinalised 408 Pandemic event visa application, and you held a Graduate visa at the time you made that application.

You must be working in Australia or have an offer of employment. You must apply 90 days before your Graduate visa expires, or 28 days after your Graduate visa expires to be eligible for a Pandemic event visa.

Please be aware, if you are granted a 408 Pandemic Event visa, you will not be eligible to then apply separately for an extended Graduate visa.

I highly recommend you assess your options carefully before you apply. For this purpose, I would like to invite you to a strategic planning session to determine your pathway to Australian permanent residence.

Strategic consultation includes 60 minutes of detailed analysis of your personal case by phone or ZOOM and several options for the pathway to PR in Australia.

You can ask me questions at any time.

Just email me at and describe your migration issues!
